Walmart reported its slowest quarterly same-store sales growth in six years, rising 2.6% in Q2 versus a 3.8% forecast, as high fuel prices above $4 per gallon weigh on consumer spending. The retailer expects $2bn in extra fuel costs and has cut prices on 11,000 items, partly funded by $2.9bn in tariff refunds. Walmart's stock fell over 9%.
