The Supreme Court appointed a five-member committee led by former judge R Subhash Reddy to investigate alleged police excesses during a July 20 student march to Parliament, as well as counter-allegations of violence by infiltrators. The panel will also examine safeguards to prevent misuse of the sedition law (Section 152 of BNS).
