Two commercial vessels carrying 22 Indian nationals were hijacked by pirates off Yemen and Somalia, according to a senior shipping ministry official. The Eritrea-flagged tanker MT Sibu-1 was seized in the Gulf of Aden on August 20, while the Cameroon-flagged M/V LUTUF was boarded off Somalia's Puntland coast on August 17. All Indian crew members are reported safe.
