Stars and Stripes editor fired, fears censorship

Erik Slavin, editor-in-chief of the US military newspaper Stars and Stripes, was dismissed by the Pentagon for insubordination, a day after he voiced concerns about censorship. He believes his firing stems from an interview where he called censorship a red line. The paper's Middle East reporter and publisher were also sacked, amid tensions between the Trump administration and the media.
