Centre asks states to appoint nodal officers for LPG-to-PNG shift

India's Petroleum Ministry has asked states and Union Territories to appoint district-level nodal officers to accelerate the shift from LPG to piped natural gas (PNG). The move follows supply disruptions during the West Asia crisis and aims to reduce logistics burden and improve energy transition. A regulatory framework will prevent households from retaining both connections.
