Taiwan President Lai Ching-te said on Sunday that peace can only be secured through strength and that not an inch of territory can be sacrificed, during a visit to Kinmen island to mark the anniversary of the 1958 Second Taiwan Strait Crisis. Taiwan has controlled Kinmen and Matsu since 1949, and no peace treaty has been signed with China.
