About 2,000 Indian residents in Japan are on standby to house Asian Games athletes in Nagoya and Aichi amid accommodation shortages. Japan skipped an Athletes' Village, using hotels, container huts and a cruise ship, but many of the 17,000 athletes and officials found rooms too compact. India's chef de mission said hotels are booked, with Indian households ready if rooms fall short.
