Kashmir Hosts First International Film Festival in Srinagar

Srinagar hosted its first international film festival, Rang-e-Cinema, screening 130 films from 30 countries at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre. Bollywood figures including Imtiaz Ali and Vidhu Vinod Chopra attended the four-day event. Local filmmakers said they were excluded from planning. The festival marks a tentative return of cinema to a region where theatres once thrived before decades of militancy.
