Webb Telescope Reveals Black Eye Galaxy's Hidden Merger

The composite image shows dust and star-forming regions across wavelengths, revealing gas in the galaxy's outer regions rotating opposite to its core. NASA says this counter-rotation likely stems from a merger with a smaller galaxy over a billion years ago.
