Alaska voters to decide fate of ranked choice voting

Alaska's primary ended with late withdrawals in governor, U.S. Senate and U.S. House races, leaving voters frustrated with its top-four primary and ranked choice system. At least five candidates dropped out after advancing, including Democrat Tom Begich, who endorsed rival Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins. Alaskans will vote this fall on whether to keep or scrap the system.
