About 7,000 humanoid robots were sold worldwide last year for industrial and professional use, the International Federation of Robotics said, a fraction of the global robot population. Many were bought by research institutions rather than doing productive work. Bank of America forecasts 90,000 shipments this year and 1.2 million by 2030, with China leading growth.
