FAA Grounds East Coast Flights After Fiber Cable Cut

A fiber line cut by an Amtrak crew in New Jersey caused an FAA equipment outage, grounding flights at major East Coast airports including JFK, Newark, and Philadelphia. Over 1,000 flights were disrupted at Newark alone, with nearly 4,000 delays nationwide. Ground stops remain at Newark, JFK, and Teterboro, while LaGuardia, Philadelphia, and Boston have resumed operations.
