DGCA Audits SpiceJet as Financial Woes Mount

India's aviation regulator DGCA has launched an operational and financial audit of SpiceJet to prevent safety lapses, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said. The budget carrier's domestic market share fell to 1.6% in July, and salary payments have been delayed since May. The government has extended Rs 150 crore in emergency credit and says its ability to intervene in a private airline is limited.
