Karnataka Assembly Rejects Kasturirangan Report on Western Ghats

The Karnataka Assembly has passed a resolution rejecting the K Kasturirangan report on Western Ghats conservation in its current form. The state urged the Centre to fix deficiencies in the draft ESA notification, which covers about 20,668 sq km across 1,449 villages, saying agricultural lands and settlements were included using satellite data without physical surveys or livelihood support.
