The US, Denmark and Greenland signed a defence deal at the UN General Assembly allowing Washington to build two new military bases in Greenland and reaffirming Danish sovereignty. The agreement updates a 1951 defence pact and ends over a year of tension after President Trump threatened to take the territory. The bases will be at Narsarsuaq and Mestersvig.
