UK Launches Agency to Counter Russian Disinformation

The UK will establish a National Centre for Information Defence to detect, attribute, and disrupt foreign information attacks, Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced at the UN. The agency will unite intelligence, law enforcement, and social media firms to combat AI-driven disinformation and deepfakes, particularly from Russia. Burnham warned that AI will multiply the threat and stressed the need to build national resilience.
