Supreme Court Stays Allahabad HC Order for Noida DM to Pay Rs 5 Lakh

The Supreme Court on Wednesday stayed the Allahabad High Court order directing Gautam Buddh Nagar DM Medha Roopam to pay Rs 5 lakh compensation from her salary for the detention of DU student Akriti Chaudhary under the NSA. The bench also stayed the HC's adverse observations against the DM. The case arose from Chaudhary's detention during the April Noida workers' protest.
