Harish Rawat Accuses Election Commission of Compromising Autonomy Over SIR

Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Wednesday accused the Election Commission of compromising its autonomy over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, alleging the Chief Election Commissioner overruled fellow commissioners. His remarks follow a report that Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi objected at least 14 times in 10 months. Opposition parties are demanding CEC Gyanesh Kumar's resignation.
