Eight USS Abraham Lincoln Sailors Attempted Suicide, Navy Says

Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao told Senator Kirsten Gillibrand that eight sailors across the USS Abraham Lincoln strike group attempted suicide during a deployment that included combat operations against Iran. No sailor died by suicide. The extended deployment, lasting over six months with limited port visits, raised mental health concerns; the Navy said it has not observed an increase in suicidal behaviour.
