Government Sticks to October 15 UPI MDR Rollout, GST Review Possible

The government will not extend the October 15 deadline for implementing MDR on select UPI transactions, sources said. A 0.4% fee applies to merchant transactions above Rs 2,000, capped at Rs 300. The GST Council may review the 18% GST on MDR, though it is not yet on the October 7 agenda.
