The US Department of Justice has filed to intervene in Elon Musk's legal challenge against a €120m EU fine on X over its blue checkmark system. The European Commission fined X in December 2025 for deceiving users by selling verification without meaningfully verifying accounts. The Commission says it is ready to defend its case in court.
