Lebanon PM demands Israeli withdrawal in UN speech

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam told the UN General Assembly that Israel must fully withdraw from southern Lebanon and the US-brokered ceasefire be consolidated. He called for a clear timetable and verification mechanism, and pledged Hezbollah's disarmament in exchange for withdrawal. Israeli shelling and demolitions continued in the south, where more than 60 towns remain occupied.
