India's FMCG market saw volumes decline 2% year-on-year in the April-June quarter, with value growth of just 0.8%, according to NIQ. Rural markets were hit hardest, with volumes down 5%, while 68% of categories contracted. Rising input costs, fuel prices and a rainfall deficit weighed on demand.
