Standoff in Portadown as loyalist parade blocked

Hundreds of nationalist protesters blocked the Garvaghy Road in Portadown after the Parades Commission allowed the loyalist Drumcree parade there for the first time since 1998. Sinn Féin leaders Mary Lou McDonald and Michelle O'Neill joined the peaceful protest, calling the decision "madness." Police warned demonstrators of arrest as Orangemen waited at a church.
