South Korea, Ukraine Clash Over North Korean POW Transfer

South Korea's presidential office expressed "strong regret" after Ukraine disclosed the transfer of two North Korean prisoners of war to Seoul, saying it violated a nondisclosure agreement. Ukraine's presidential office denied any confidentiality pact existed. The soldiers were captured in Russia's Kursk region in January 2025 and had expressed a desire to defect to South Korea.
