Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has rejected a clemency request from death row inmate Christa Pike, who is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection on Wednesday. Pike, 50, was convicted of the 1995 torture and murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer when she was 18. If the execution proceeds, Pike would be the first woman executed in Tennessee in over 200 years. Her attorneys have filed a last-minute petition with the US Supreme Court.
