Italy Convicts Three Egyptian Agents in Regeni Kidnapping

An Italian court sentenced three Egyptian security officials in absentia to 10 years for the 2016 kidnapping of Cambridge student Giulio Regeni, whose tortured body was found in Cairo. A fourth defendant was acquitted. The men are unlikely to be extradited due to strained Italy-Egypt ties. Egypt denies involvement.
