Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced the Indian Navy will induct 18 warships in 2026, the largest single-year fleet expansion in its history. The vessels, including stealth frigates and support ships, will all be built at Indian shipyards. The Navy targets a 200-plus-ship fleet by 2035, with recently commissioned warships containing over 75% indigenous content.
