UN Extends Haiti Gang Suppression Force Mandate to 2027

The UN Security Council voted Tuesday to extend the Gang Suppression Force in Haiti until March 31, 2027, with China, Russia and Pakistan abstaining. About 1,500 troops are deployed, far short of the 5,500 planned, as gang violence persists and more than 1.5 million people have been displaced.
