Indian pilot foils mid-air hijack attempt, saves 174

An Omani co-pilot stabbed Captain Smit aboard Flydubai flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv, sending the plane into a 17,500-foot dive. Bleeding, the Indian captain triggered hijack code Squawk 7500. Off-duty pilots and passengers subdued the attacker, and the aircraft made an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. All 174 on board survived.
