An Omani co-pilot allegedly attacked Indian captain Smit Machchhar with a cockpit crash axe on a flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, causing a steep descent from 33,000 to 17,000 feet. The plane diverted to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, after being denied landing by Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The co-pilot was arrested; flydubai suspended Israel flights.
