The Supreme Court has declined a parliamentary committee's request to meet Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and other judges on the one-nation, one-election bill, saying the proposed amendment could face judicial review. The committee, headed by BJP MP P P Chaudhary, cancelled the October 6 meeting. Opposition MPs had criticised the proposed meeting as a breach of separation of powers.
