Court Tosses Sentence Over AI Victim Video in Arizona Case

An Arizona appeals court has thrown out a 10-year manslaughter sentence after an AI-generated video of the deceased victim addressing the judge was used at sentencing. The court ruled the video was unreliable and did not reflect actual events, ordering Gabriel Paul Horcasitas to be resentenced in the 2021 shooting death of Christopher Pelkey.
