Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that whoever directed the Flydubai co-pilot who attacked the captain will "pay a very heavy price," saying the assailant had undergone Islamist radicalisation. Investigators are probing whether the co-pilot acted alone or on orders. Indian captain Smit Machchhar, though injured, opened the cockpit door so passengers could restrain the attacker; the Dubai-Tel Aviv flight diverted safely to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.
