French high school students blockade schools in nationwide protest

Hundreds of French high schools were closed or barricaded Friday as students protested underfunded education, overcrowded classes and poor conditions. The government, caught off guard, called grievances legitimate but condemned violence. Hundreds were arrested and dozens injured, including 65 education staff. Protests may continue next week.
