Carter's Georgia solar farm powers 60% of Plains

Jimmy Carter leased 10 acres of his family farm in Plains, Georgia, for a 1.3-megawatt solar installation built by SolAmerica Energy in 2017. The project now supplies about 60% of the small city's electricity, backed by a 25-year power purchase agreement with Georgia Power. It is expected to generate over 55 million kilowatt-hours in 25 years.
