West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari pledged on Sunday to implement the Uniform Civil Code within six months, saying the state would follow Uttarakhand and Gujarat. He also promised strict laws against "love jihad", "land jihad" and religious conversion. Speaking at a Vishwa Hindu Parishad event, he vowed to protect Sanatan traditions and temples within the Constitution.
