The Indian Bureau of Mines has invited applications from eligible firms to set up mineral exchanges, with a November 2 deadline. The exchanges will initially trade iron, chromite, bauxite, limestone and manganese, and aim to create a transparent, technology-enabled mechanism for price discovery. Registration is valid for 25 years and requires a minimum net worth of Rs 50 crore.
