CBDT Extends Tax Audit Deadline to October 21, 2026

The Central Board of Direct Taxes has extended the deadline for furnishing the tax audit report for Assessment Year 2026-27 to October 21, 2026. Taxpayers with business or professional income requiring an audit must also file their income tax returns by November 21, 2026. Audits are mandatory for businesses with turnover above Rs 1 crore, or Rs 10 crore if cash transactions are 5% or less, and for professionals earning over Rs 50 lakh.
