Punjab Police have recovered sophisticated illegal weapons, including AK-47s, an AK-56, an MP-9, high-end pistols and hand grenades, over three months. The seizures coincide with the killings of political workers, local leaders and a police officer on night patrol. Police investigations point to personal, property or local rivalries in several cases, not all political.
