A Georgian dentist aboard a Tel Aviv-bound flydubai flight treated Captain Smit Machchhar for 45 minutes after co-pilot Hamam al-Hammami allegedly stabbed him in an attempt to crash the aircraft carrying over 170 passengers. Dr Shuta Musaev used makeshift dressings and ice to control severe bleeding while passenger Yaniv Hayun helped overpower the attacker. Machchhar, hailed as a hero by PM Modi and PM Netanyahu, is recovering steadily in a UAE hospital.
