India has removed Jack Dorsey's Bluetooth messaging app Bitchat from Apple's App Store and Google Play, with government sources citing law-and-order concerns over its ability to bypass restrictions. MeitY ordered the takedown under Section 69(A) of the IT Act. Officials also ruled out banning minors from social media, saying consultations on a better solution continue.
