Tropical Storm Isaias Forms in Gulf, May Set 121-Year Record

Tropical Storm Isaias formed Wednesday in the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to reach hurricane strength before moving onshore, which would tie a 121-year-old record for the latest-forming first hurricane of the Atlantic season. Isaias is the ninth named storm of the season; none of the previous eight reached hurricane strength.
