White House Blocks Microsoft, Others from Hiring Foreign Workers

The White House has barred Microsoft and seven other tech firms from hiring skilled foreign workers permanently through the H-1B visa program. Vice President JD Vance accused Microsoft of replacing American workers with "foreign indentured servants." The Labor Department will not process new or pending PERM applications from these companies. Microsoft denies wrongdoing, saying most H-1B filings were for existing employees paid equally to US staff.
