42 Ex-Judges Back Election Commission, Slam Opposition Attacks

A group of 42 retired judges defended the Election Commission's Special Intensive Review of electoral rolls in an open letter, calling opposition attacks a "calculated campaign" without evidence. They said constitutional bodies face sustained assault and that silence is no longer neutral. The opposition INDIA bloc has accused the CEC of revising rolls to benefit the BJP and sought his resignation.
