Karnataka CM Hints at Good News on Pending Central Grants

Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman shared "some good news" on the state's long-pending central grants after he raised the issue at the GST Council meeting. He also opposed criminal cases and arrests for non-payment of GST, a position he said all states except one supported. The Council scrapped officers' arrest powers and raised the prosecution threshold to Rs 5 crore.
