Margaret Hamilton, who led Apollo software, dies at 90

Margaret Hamilton, the computer scientist who led development of the Apollo guidance software, died on September 30 at 90, MIT announced. Her work helped avert a landing abort during Apollo 11's 1969 moon descent. She popularised the term "software engineering" and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016.
