Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Poonamallee-Vadapalani stretch of Chennai Metro Phase II, built at a cost of around Rs 4,900 crore, and rode the metro with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay. He also launched highway, railway, and port projects worth thousands of crores, including a 36-km NH-744 section and new facilities at Chennai Port.
