Israel tightens Hebron grip with new iron gates

Israeli authorities installed three iron gates across a 200-metre stretch of Hebron's Old City, deepening movement restrictions on Palestinians in the H2 area under full Israeli control. About 7,000 residents are affected, with checkpoints open only from 7am to 8pm. The closures have paralysed economic activity, residents and the city's mayor say.
