Owaisi reframes UP poll battle as 99% vs 1%

Ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi told an Azamgarh rally the real contest is "99% against 1%," not the ruling BJP's "80% versus 20%" framing. Citing state data for 2024-25, he said Azamgarh ranks fourth among UP districts in poverty, and accused PM Modi, Amit Shah and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of representing a privileged elite.
